Migran las poblaciones y migran las ideas buscando nuevos y mejores espacios donde desarrollarse, alimentarse, reproducirse, refugiarse  o crecer. Tales esfuerzos que requieren de la mayor parte de la energía de cada individuo solo se logran por instinto.

Migración esta ligado con supervivencia, migro luego perduro – Dijo una mariposa monarca -

Migran las poblaciones y migran las ideas buscando nuevos y mejores espacios donde desarrollarse, alimentarse, reproducirse, refugiarse  o crecer.
Tales esfuerzos que requieren de la mayor parte de la energía de cada individuo solo se logran por instinto.

Los trabajadores mexicanos, turcos, españoles, griegos, africanos, entre otros, que traspasan las fronteras para buscar un empleo, funcionan básicamente por el mismo principio: subsistir.

Supervivencia es permanencia, es dejar un legado, es trascender.
Todos queremos trascender, dejar algo al futuro.

Caminar el área gris es una forma de trascendencia: nuestras ideas viajan – gracias al Internet – son vistas y oídas para regresar nuevas y revitalizadas; así sucesivamente hasta lograr un objeto, resultado de esa migración.

Una poco de historia…
Nací en Bogotá, Colombia, donde inicié estudios de Bellas Artes y luego viajé a Barcelona para estudiar joyería en la Escuela Massana. En 1978 viajé a Alemania para estudiar en la Academia de Artes de Munich. Desde 1986 vivo y trabajo en ciudad de México.

Migration is linked to survival, I  migrate therefore I endure – said a monarch butterfly -

Populations migrate and ideas too, seeking new and better spaces to thive, feed, breed and grow.
Such efforts require most of the energy of each individual and are only achieved by instinct.

Mexican, Turkish, Spanish, Greek and African workers among others that cross the borders to find a job, do it basically for the same principle: survival.

Survival is permanence,  to leave a legacy, to transcend…
We all want to transcend, leave something for the future.

Walking the gray area is a form of transcendence: our ideas travel – thanks to the Internet – they are seen and heard, only to return renewed and revitalized in an ongoig process to finally become a new object, as a result of that migration.

A little history …
I was born in Bogota, Colombia where I initiated studies of Fine Arts. Then I traveled to Barcelona to study jewelery in the Massana School. In 1978 I traveled to Germany to study at the Arts Academy of Munich. Since 1986  I live and work in Mexico City.

The universe has a curve that is a space-time continuum.

In a positive curvature the cosmos will be like a sphere – like a round body with all points of its surface being at equal distances from the centre.

When you travel far enough in a positive curvature universe you end up at the beginning point.

El Popocatépetl es un volcán activo unido al norte con el volcán Iztaccíhuatl en la mitad oriental del Eje Volcánico Mexicano. Se encuentran tan cerca de la ciudad de México, que se pueden ver desde cualquier parte de ella…Y son hermosos!

El Popocatépetl es un volcán activo unido al norte con el volcán Iztaccíhuatl en la mitad oriental del Eje Volcánico Mexicano. Se encuentran tan cerca de la ciudad de México, que se pueden ver desde cualquier parte de ella…Y son hermosos!

The Popocatepetl is an active volcano linked to the north to the Iztaccihuatl volcano in the eastern half of the Trans-Mexican volcanic belt. They lie so close to Mexico city, that you can see them from any part of the city…  And they are beautiful!!!

Una leyenda Azteca cuenta que la princesa Iztaccíhuatl cuando creyó que su amado el guerrero Popocatépetl había muerto en batalla, dejo de comer y cayó en un sueño profundo. Al regresar su amado la tomó en sus brazos y salio de la ciudad. Unos días después surgieron de la tierra dos Volcanes muy altos que lanzaban llamas al cielo.
Cuando su padre el emperador vio las montañas, dijo a su pueblo:
“Iztaccíhuatl y Popocatépetl murieron de tristeza porque no podían vivir el uno sin el otro. El amor los ha transformado en volcanes y sus corazones fieles arderán como una flama para siempre”

Aztec Legend has it that when Princess Iztaccihuatl thought her beloved warrior Popocatepetl had died in battle, she stopped eating and fell into a deep sleep. Upon returning from the war, her beloved took her in his arms and left the city. A few days later two very high volcanoes emerged throwing flames into the sky.
When the emperor, her father, saw the two mountains, he said to his people:
” Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl died of sadness Because they could not live without each other. Love has transformed them into volcanoes and their faithful hearts will burn as a flame forever”

Iztaccíhuatl significa: la mujer dormida.
Iztaccihuatl means: the sleeping woman.
Popocatépetl significa: Montaña que humea.
Popocatepetl means: Smoke mountain.

Here as well an old legend exits about the Dolomites. It is a love story between princes from moon and a prince from earth. The bright light on the moon makes it impossible for the prince from earth to stay. But on the other hand the dark nights on earth [...]]]> The Popocatepetl looks very beautiful! Wow!

Here as well an old legend exits about the Dolomites. It is a love story between princes from moon and a prince from earth. The bright light on the moon makes it impossible for the prince from earth to stay. But on the other hand the dark nights on earth are depressive for the princes from moon. In the end the problem is solved because people spin moonlight around the Dolomites. That is why the Dolomites always white on the top.

The flower Edelweiss is actually a flower from moon! The princes gave it as a present to the people.

En los Dolomitas en las regiones de Trentino-Alto, Adigio y el Véneto se habla el Ladino, Es una lengua retorrománica. De esa zona es Pier Paolo Pasolini  conocido novelista, cineasta, dramaturgo y ensayista italiano que también escribía poesía. Su poema – Muerte -comienza así:

Vuelvo a ti, como vuelve

un emigrado a su país y lo redescubre:

he hecho fortuna (en el intelecto)

y soy feliz…

Pero también se le dice Ladino a la lengua que fue y es hablada por los sefardíes, judíos expulsados de España a raíz del Edicto de la Alhambra decretado en 1492 por los Reyes Católicos. El mismo año en que los españoles se encontraron por casualidad con América,

este grande, hermoso y mágico continente.

…1492….

Año de gran importancia, año crucial para el mestizaje y el cambio en las formas de ver y conocer el mundo de los habitantes originales.

Nuestra herencia.

La migración es nostalgia…

In the Dolomite regions of Trentino-Alto, Adigio and the Veneto, a Romansh language called Ladino is spoken. From that area is Pier Paolo Pasolini a known Italian novelist, filmmaker,  playwrighter and essayist who also wrote poetry. His poem – Death – begins:

I return to you, as an emigrant

return to his country and rediscover it:

I made a fortune (the intellectual one)

and I’m happy …

But it is also known as Ladino the language which was, and is spoken by the Sephardic Jews expelled from Spain following the Edict of the Alambra, decreed by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492. The same year that the Spanish discovered by chance America,

this big, beautiful and magical continent.

… 1492 ….

Year of great importance, crucial year for the mestization and changing ways of seeing and knowing the world of the original inhabitants.

Entre 200 aC y 600 dC en el desierto peruano los antiguos habitantes de Nazca crearon estos geoglifos limpiando la capa superior del suelo rojo oscuro y la piedra, dejando el pálido suelo subyacente expuesto. Esta imagen del satélite Ikonos revela una espiral gigante, una araña, y las líneas perfectamente rectas que se extienden por kilómetros en el desierto.

Los dibujos fueron realizados para ser vistos desde el cielo.

(Para ser visto por el viajero de corazón …? Para guiar el regreso de un viaje al corazón …? Para marcar el camino de regreso a casa desde el corazón …?)

Between 200 BCE and AD 600 in the Peruvian desert the ancient Nazca people created these geoglyphs clearing away the dark red top soil and stone, leaving the pale underlying exposed soil. This view from the Ikonos satellite reveals a giant spiral, a spider, and perfectly straight lines that stretch for kilometers across the desert.

The drawings were made to be seen from the sky.

…Pero entonces, ¿qué pensar de todas esas hierbas, pócimas y pieles de cabra, por no hablar de su amistad con los demonios? Katherine Kepler la madre del autor fue acusada (por causa del libro) de brujería en 1615 y juzgada en 1620. Eludió la hoguera de milagro, pero murió de todos modos a los seis meses de salir de prisión. Los viajes a la Luna salían caros en la época.

…But then ?what to make of all these herbs, potions and goat skins, not to mention her friendship with the demons? Katherine Kepler the author’s mother was accused (because of the book) of witchcraft in 1615 and tried in 1620. Miraculously she escaped the fire but died anyway within six months after leaving prison. Trips to the Moon were expensive at that time.
